Voter ID Card Online | How to Apply for Voter ID Card

Voter ID card is essential for casting votes in India. Every Indian citizen who is above the 18 years of age should have a Voter ID Card. Only people above the 18 years of age has the right to Vote in Indian elections. Voter Card also serves as unique Identity Card and is valid and required to avail various services like you can show it while travelling through train, you can open bank account with the help of it and in many more government and public sector services.

If you are above 18 years of age and don't have Voter ID Card, then you can get voter ID card online with following few steps.

Voter ID card online registration is simple and fast. Also it saves time and prevent you from standing in long queues.

• Visit Election Commission of India website.
• A link to Form 6 application will open up.
• Enter your mobile number and e-mail ID and click Proceed button.
• A verification code will be sent to your mobile and e-mail ID you have provided. If not received then you can request it again by clicking on resend verification code link.
• Enter the verification code you received and click on Proceed button.
• You will be taken to the 'My Application' page.
• Click on Application For Inclusion Of Name In Electoral Roll (FORM6) option.
• Form 6 application will open, choose your State, District and Assembly constituency.
• when you select your state and if Form 6 application is handled locally by State chief electoral officer then you will be redirected to that particular state election commission website.
• Now fill you all personal details accurately and click save.
• You will be given an application ID and same will be sent to you through mobile and e-mail.
• Click Continue button. On next page attach you passport size color photograph and provide other required details.
• Save the application and click on continue button.
• On next page provide you date of birth details and attache the document proof. Also provide your address details and attache the document proof for the same.
• Save the application and click on continue button.
• On final page provide details as requested and accept all declarations and click on submit button.
• You will be asked to finalize the application. Preview your application and if everything is correct then click on 'Yes' otherwise if you are not confirmed click on 'No' and you can edit your application later and finalize it.
• Your application is submitted.
